We stumbled upon our farm name quite accidently, and it's simply a combination of our two first names MIchelle and KUrt and in honor of the small valley we live on the edge of. Later we were pleased to learn that "beautiful sky" describes our sunsets almost every evening. The rest of the translations are a bonus.
From Japanese 美 (mi) meaning "beautiful" combined with 空 (ku) meaning "sky" or 久 (ku) meaning "long time". It can also come from a nanori reading of 未来 (mirai) meaning "future". Other kanji combinations are possible as well.
A piece of Paradise:
MiKu Valley is a 68 acre (27 hectares) piece of paradise in rural Eastern Ontario, tucked a bit out of the way but just minutes from the villages of Lansdowne and Mallorytown. Our location is almost centered on the geologic axis of the Frontenac Arch. On the map we're between Toronto and Montreal and not that far from Ottawa. We're almost directly linked to the USA via the 1000 Island Bridge crossing about 10 minutes away. Read More about us and MiKu Valley >>>>
